John Barrymore always added zest and wit to every film he appeared in. Even his later films, which are often derided, aren't bad. In fact, THE GREAT MAN VOTES (1939) is an overlooked gem with a touch of dipsomania. There was even more drinking in THE GREAT PROFILE (1940), which has its moments.
